After the Olympic successes in Paris, “Super-Sarah” can now receive the ultimate tribute. It is the municipal politicians in Haninge who want to perpetuate the Olympic hero’s name and name their new swimming hall “Sjöströmshallen”, reports the local newspaper Mitt i.
– Sarah Sjöström is one of Sweden’s most successful athletes of all time. She has a background in having swum at Torvalla. By calling the new swimming hall Sjöströmshallen, we would not only honor Sarah Sjöström and Södertörn’s swimming club, but hopefully also inspire more people, especially children and young people, to want to swim, says Nicole Forslund (L), municipal councilor and chairman of the sports, culture and recreation board in Haninge in an official statement.

Proposal for Sarah

Sjöström competes on a daily basis for Södertörn’s swimming club and can now receive the finest gift by having the surname adorn the new hall in Torvalla, which is located in Haninge municipality.
