Rights violated, freedoms declining: in Tunisia, women express their anger

Rights violated freedoms declining in Tunisia women express their anger

In Tunisia, the annual feminist demonstration on August 13, which marks the celebration of women’s rights in the country, took place in a tone of anger. Feminist associations and female politicians took to the streets, not only to demand their rights, but also to denounce the regression of freedoms and the imprisonment of nearly a dozen women from civil society, journalism and the political world since the coup by President Kaïs Saïed on July 25, 2021.
