WhatsApp is going to integrate new fun features for more

WhatsApp is going to integrate new fun features for more user-friendliness. On the program: augmented reality filters for video calls and instant reaction by double tap, like on Instagram.

WhatsApp is appreciated for the user-friendliness of its exchanges, which Meta is continually improving with new functions. Thus, the instant messaging service allows you to edit your photos using artificial intelligence and generate photos of yourself using AI. And it doesn’t plan on stopping there! Since 2022, WhatsApp has allowed you to react to a message by long-pressing, then choosing the emoji of your choice. The application plans to improve this function by allowing users to add a reaction with a simple double tap, as spotted by the specialized site WABetaInfo in WhatsApp beta 2.24.16.7 for Android. A way to save a few seconds! Note that most instant messaging apps such as Messenger, Instagram or Telegram already allow you to do this, so WhatsApp is catching up.

WhatsApp Instant Reaction: Send a Heart in Seconds

Double-tapping a message will automatically add a heart emoji as a reaction, and this in a fraction of a second. It can be removed in the same way, with a double tap. On the other hand, to react with another emoji, you will still have to hold the text to choose the one of your choice. Note that it is impossible to deactivate this function at the moment. You will therefore have to be careful not to press a message twice by mistake. This function is still in the testing phase, it should be deployed to the general public in the coming weeks.

Meta is also working on other additions to make WhatsApp more fun and user-friendly, including enriching and livening up video calls. Indeed, still in the beta version of the application, WABetaInfo discovered augmented reality effects and filters for video calls (see our article). In particular, we will find a retouching tool to smooth your skin, a low-light mode to improve visibility in poorly lit environments and a tool to change the background during calls. Again, this fun and highly anticipated feature should be available to everyone in a future WhatsApp update!
