Twitch suspended the paid support system they added to support publishers due to the promotion of pornographic content by trolls.
Twitch officially released earlier this month for pornographic content. Boost Train suspended the program. Of course, the abuse of the program, which aims to bring the viewers to the forefront by paying real money to the broadcasters they follow, could not be prevented. It is stated that troll users are featured on Twitch’s home page by paying in bulk for broadcasts with pornographic content.
Twitch intentionally highlights pornographic content
Twitch’s first attempt at channel support was actually in December 2020, with channel points accumulated by viewers. With the accumulated channel points, it was possible for broadcasters to highlight their channels to the Twitch algorithm. Twitch’s transition to the paid system in 2021 attracted the reaction of the majority. While some stated that this system would benefit channels with a large audience, it was also stated that it could be abused.
The Boost Train system, which was introduced earlier this month instead of backlash, required subscribing and sending bits to support a channel. On Wednesday, March 30, Twitter and Reddit users shared images that this system is being used to place sexual content on Twitch’s homepage.
Twitch stated that the abused system was taken into consideration. However, the course of Twitch, which remains silent on both the late reactions to mass racist attacks and scandals such as money laundering, does not look good.
