Over the years, there are many tennis players who have become known for their hot tempers. The icon John McEnroe is probably the most classic example of a really hot-tempered tennis player.
Björkman’s career
Someone you never thought would be the Swedish legend Jonas Björkman. He is one of Swedish tennis’ most successful players with a whopping 54 doubles titles and 6 singles titles during his successful career.

At his best, he was ranked world number one in doubles and world number four in singles. Above all, he has been a real gentleman on the tennis court, but there is one extreme exception that stands out there.
Iconic eruption
During a 2007 Wimbledon match against the Czech Tomas Berdych Björkman lost it completely and offered one of the most classic outbursts of anger of all time. After a verdict, Jonas roars out in pure Swedish both “luder” and “you damn fool” to all the spectators on site.

– Yes, that is on film. It was not good. Me and that judge have talked about it several times afterwards and he wanted to take a picture with me on that very court at Wimbledon a few years ago. Every now and then he was “up and coming” and didn’t think he made a single mistake. I liked referees who could admit they were wrong at some point. He didn’t, he says in a new interview with Expressen.

Jonas Björkman is 52 years old today and remembers this moment very well, even though it has been 17 years since it happened.
– We had already broken up before that match and I got angry as soon as I entered the court and he (the referee) was sitting there again. I got my first break ball in the whole match, then he stepped in and changed the linesman’s decision even though it was on the head referee’s “far side”, it’s an unwritten rule that you don’t do that. He did. Then the top cover came off me, says the Swedish legend to the evening newspaper.
