The municipality of Utrecht wants to work with residents to set up a public heating company. According to the municipality, a government-owned heating company is necessary to make homes in the city natural gas-free. Residents are involved in the establishment, but recently cooperation with a residents’ initiative in Overvecht-Noord broke down. Other resident initiatives have doubts about the participation plans at the new heating company.
