Searched for Maja at the railway
The police launched a large search operation with dogs, drones and helicopters to find Maja. On Monday evening, the train service between Skene and Kinna was also stopped, at the request of the police in the search for her.

The case has shaken the entire municipality and the grief has been great. Several have left flowers and things outside Maja’s school.
– You are touched, I myself have children of the same age. I’ve been walking with a lump in my stomach all day, says Kinnabon Eva Johansson told The Express.
A crime scene investigation is underway
Peter Sorstedt, the police commander in charge of the operation surrounding Maja does not want to comment on details from the ongoing investigation.
– Right now we are conducting a crime scene investigation where the body was found. It is that place that is cordoned off, says Peter Sörstedt The Express.
On the same day that Maja was reported missing, she is said to have left school together with the teenage boy of the same age who is now suspected of murder.
In questioning, the 17-year-old teenage boy first stated that he and Maja separated, but later changed his version.
According to The Express the teenage boy in the second version is said to have said that Maja had wanted to show him a “secret place” by a railway bridge. After the interrogation, the police focused their search on areas around the railway bridges.
According to Expressen, the body must have been found in shallow water right at the edge of the beach. Maja’s body is said to have had injuries that may indicate that she was subjected to severe violence, Expressen claims.

On Monday, the teenage boy was first arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, which was changed to murder when the body was found.
“A person is under arrest on suspicion of murder. A crime scene investigation and forensic examination will be conducted on site. In connection with the arrest, prosecutors have taken over the preliminary investigation,” the police wrote on their website.
The 17-year-old teenage boy denies any wrongdoing.
