Two Norfolk residents charged with drug trafficking

Two Norfolk County residents have been charged after police seized drugs, a weapon and money from a vehicle and a home.

Norfolk OPP say officers stopped a vehicle on Pinegrove Road in Charlotteville just after 10 pm on Tuesday and arrested the two occupants. A search of the vehicle turned up suspected cocaine and a prohibited weapon, say police.

At about 1 pm on Wednesday, Haldimand Norfolk OPP Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Wyecombe, Norfolk County where police say they found suspected dilaudid and hydromorphone, as well as Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia.

A 49-year-old is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking; two counts of possession of opioid (other than heroin) for the purpose of trafficking; unauthorized possession of a weapon; possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000; and disobey a court order.

A 46-year-old is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking; two counts of possession of opioid (other than heroin) for the purpose of trafficking; unauthorized possession of a weapon; and drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.
