The February school holiday weekend in zones A and C could be compromised by a strike by SNCF controllers. What we know.
The mid-weekend School vacation of February in zone C (academies in Paris, Versailles, Créteil but also Toulouse and Montpellier) and the start of school holidays in zone A (academies in Poitiers, Bordeaux, Limoges, Clermont-Ferrand, Lyon, Grenoble, Dijon, Besançon ), which takes place from Friday February 16 to Sunday February 18, risks being disrupted by the mobilization of SNCF controllers. The latter are demanding an increase in salaries and better consideration of their end of career.
The strike notice was filed by the SUD-Rail union and runs from Thursday February 15 at 8 p.m. until Monday February 19 at 8 a.m. Presented in a leaflet as “Act II” of the December 2022 mobilization, this mobilization calls for better consideration of the profession of controller with more bonuses, i.e. at least 500 euros more per month, entering into the calculation of retirement , but also “a recognition of the arduousness of the profession with the renegotiation of the agreement on the gradual cessation of activity”, according to Fabien Villedieu of Sud-Rail, reported by our colleagues from Parisian. For the moment, this union is the only one to have filed a notice.
It remains to be seen whether by then a compromise will have been found with the management of the SNCF.
