France: announcement of government measures in response to farmers’ anger

European policies in the crosshairs

In France, roads are currently blocked, agricultural waste dumped in front of public buildings. A fatal accident involving a farmer and her daughter also took place. The farming world denounces pressure from food manufacturers, the rise in the cost of diesel and complex regulations. The Prime Minister spoke in Montastruc-de-Salies, a village in Haute-Garonne located approximately 80 kilometers southeast of Toulouse. Gabriel Attal announced government measures to respond to farmers’ demands, including an end to the increase on non-road diesel and opposes the signing of the trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur.
