Several horses tore and skidded on Djurgården in Stockholm on a Saturday afternoon in June last year. Two people were seriously injured and now a 74-year-old man has died, writes Aftonbladet.

The five horses had been tied up outside a restaurant on Djurgården during a lunch break during an arranged horse ride. Suddenly one of the horses panicked and took the others with it. They climbed up and pulled free of the stake they were tied to.

The horses ran in different directions and several people were injured by their progress. The 74-year-old man and a woman in her 70s were taken to hospital with serious injuries, and on December 28 the man died from the severe brain damage he sustained.

A 55-year-old man is charged with causing danger to another. He denies any wrongdoing.
