More than a hundred residents live in the Oudewater residential care center. “Christmas dinners are extra fun for our residents,” says Verschuur. What exactly was on the menu? “We are quite modern these days,” says the chef, laughing. “We had blinis as a starter, which are Russian pancakes with salmon and herb cheese. A forest mushroom soup with a spring onion in it. And then a turkey tournedos with asparagus and celeriac puree.” Of course, dessert cannot be missed: “A mousse cake in the shape of a Christmas tree with three types of chocolate.”
