An agent with connections to gang criminals is said to have great influence within AIK

According to an investigation by Dagens ETC and Fotboll Sthlm, the agent has strong links to gang crime.

But he is also said to have great influence within AIK.

The agent is said to have been behind several of AIK’s major player sales in recent years. In addition to the club generating large transfer revenues, the agent himself must have earned many millions in agency fees in connection with the deals.

Agent’s players are prioritized

This should have helped the man gain more power within one of Sweden’s biggest football clubs. According to the review, the agent has, among other things, influenced coaches in AIK’s youth team to prioritize certain players at the expense of others.

– If you are a young guy with big football dreams, you have no chance if you do not belong to the right agent network. Then you simply won’t get the same opportunities. So the young people are the big losers, but of course over time it will hit the club hard, says a former employee of AIK to Dagens ETC and Fotboll Sthlm.

A youth coach is described as “extremely loyal” to the agent and he is said to have offered extra training to players belonging to the agent’s stable.

AIK’s response: “It is reprehensible that we are mentioned in connection with gang crime”

The sites report that people, who in some cases had weak credentials, were hired by the club thanks to having a personal relationship with the agent.

Despite the fact that some alerted the club management about the situation, the culture of silence is described as strong.

– I think it is reprehensible that AIK is mentioned in connection with gang crime. If we assume that what you are reviewing is correct: AIK should not do business with people who are connected to gang crime, says AIK’s CEO and club director Fredrik Söderberg to the sites.

SVT Sport seeks AIK and the agent for a comment.
