Between 1996 and 2010, a serial killer committed multiple murders and buried the bodies on the same beach in Long Island, New York, USA. Despite the bodies and evidence found in the area, no trace of the serial killer has been found for years. A person was arrested on suspicion of committing a series of murders with the work of the FBI and police.
LOOKING FOR THE LAKE AND THE HOUSE
Teams in the development, including state police, local sheriffs, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, and even the FBI, are currently sweeping Rex’s home and the small lake nearby. There is no official statement yet about what was found in the house and in the lake.
PROFESSION OF ARCHITECTURE
Rex Heuermann, 59, was arrested and will appear in court in the coming hours. Rex, who was born and raised on Long Island, stated that he has been working in Manhattan since 1987.
Commissioner Rodney Harrison spoke at a press conference with the Suffolk County Executive following the suspect’s arrest. In the statement made by the police, it was stated that Rex is an experienced architect.
BODY OF WOMEN FOUND ON THE BEACH
The gruesome murders came to light during the search for Shannan Gilbert, who went missing on Long Island in December 2010, reportedly missing nearly seven months ago.
A police officer working in the area with a specially trained search dog found 4 female bodies buried 50 meters apart.
The bodies were named the “Gilgo Four”. Exactly one year later, 6 more bodies were found on the beach. With the newly found bodies, the investigation deepened even more.
