A fire drill was held at the Rajavinit Mathayom School in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, this morning. During the exercise, one of the fire extinguishers exploded violently. The tube, which suddenly exploded, was thrown at a group of students watching the exercise. Many ambulances and firefighters were dispatched to the area where the accident took place. While 1 student died at the scene, 29 students were injured.
While it was learned that the injured students were not life-threatening, it was reported that 1 student had a hemorrhagic injury due to pieces of shrapnel in his body.
Some of the eye-witnesses stated that some of the students and firefighters were thrown into the environment with the violence of the explosion during the exercise, and that the exploded tube hit the face of a male student at a distance of about 10 meters.

Thai Police Chief Thiti Saengsawang said in a statement that an 18-year-old male student died at the scene as a result of a blow to the face, as a result of the explosion that took place in the garden of the Rajavinit School in the morning, and 7 people responsible for the accident were detained.
Thai Education Minister Trinuch Thienthong visited the school where the incident took place at noon, participated in the investigations and received information about the subject. Expressing his condolences to the family of the student who lost his life, Thienthong stated that the fire extinguisher had been left under the sun for a long time in the accident or that it was neglected.
