Edvin Anger comes from a difficult time with an unsuccessful WC behind him.
But now he reveals the big happy news at the side of the tracks.
– I have met someone. It’s a bit tricky, but we’ll see, he says to the local newspaper SDT.
After having his big breakthrough at the World Cup, the young talent left Edwin Anger into his first skiing WC with very high expectations. The 20-year-old was seen as a very interesting contender in the sprint but it did not go at all as he hoped.
Enters in Skiing WC
Anger’s WC debut in Planica was instead a real disappointment and he chose to leave the championship after coming in 50th place in 15 km freestyle. Now he opens up about the difficult period just over two weeks after the championship.
– It is very bad, extremely bad. But it’s almost like I’ve forgotten it now. So bad I know I don’t usually go. You get a little down when things don’t go the way you want. You want to be up there like you have been all season. When it doesn’t work and other things come into play, first pole out when I break a pole, and then that I have bad skis in the team sprint. It’s not something I can influence, he says in an interview with Södra Dalarnes Tidning.

After a couple of weeks off from competition, the giant of promise returned to the sprint in Dammen, but went out already in the quarter-finals. Things went significantly better in Falun during the weekend, which was when Anger participated and won the mixed relay for Sweden together with Jonna Sundling, Moa Ilar and Calle Halfvarsson.

The happiness of love
But aside from the ski tracks, Edvin Anger has had great news during the difficult period with the ski WC. The Swede now reveals that he has met a new love – from Norway.
– It is quite new. We have been in contact for a few months. We live six hours apart, so it’s a bit tricky. But we’ll see. She was an important person for me during the WC. We talked a lot on the phone, he admits to the local newspaper.

The couple met via a dating app when Anger was competing at the World Cup in Lillehammer.
– The first time I rode well was in Lillehammer, and that’s where I met her. And apparently I found the form out of nowhere in Drammen, so maybe she has a positive influence, says Edvin with a smile in the interview.
