This Monday took place the first interministerial steering committee to define a national action plan against endometriosis. What do women who suffer from it face? What are the challenges of the national strategy? Where is the research?
Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the female genital system which can cause, in those who are affected, pain so violent that it becomes disabling. This disease has long been ignored and is still little known to the general public and some health professionals. However, in France, it concerns between 1 to 2 women out of 10. To advance research and improve the lives of patients, Emmanuel Macron announced in January the launch of a national strategy.
