Last week, eleven residents came to the city council to express their objections to high-rise buildings. Honkoop and many other local residents were presented with a completely different picture four years ago when the municipality drew up an area vision. At that time there were still 150 homes in a green landscape where buildings and traffic were ‘guests’. The area vision also stated that residents would rather not see high-rise buildings along Dalweg. “We want homes just as well,” says Honkoop, “just a little less and then you can turn it into a nice neighborhood. We have little faith that it will still be fun and cozy if you put so many homes there, separately of the traffic situation, which already leaves much to be desired.”
