According to journalists on the ground at the messy negotiations, there is some optimism about finding an agreement on a damage and loss fund, where richer countries will pay poorer countries for damages caused by climate change.
Another stumbling block is wording around the phasing out of fossil fuels – to include both gas and oil and not just coal – where Russia and Saudi Arabia are said to have put sticks in the wheel.
The final session is expected to start at 01 Swedish time at the earliest.
