Before the game
Sweden chose after the World Cup qualifiers ended to change their formation and their style of play. From a classic 4-4-2, they would now start playing 4-3-3, and they would also try to be more game-oriented. Four games into the new style of play, we must state that this experiment did not turn out as well as desired, as we ended up with one win and three losses. Janne Andersson has already opened up that there may again be some changes in the way of playing, but he did not want to reveal anything regarding formation.
When we played at home against Serbia, we lost 0-1, and now the question is whether Sweden can stand for a stronger effort at home at Friends Arena. Unfortunately, the defensive problem is still big, with many injured centre-backs. Offensively, some usually given plays are also missing, in the form of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Albin Ekdal and Jesper Karlsson. Read more before the match in our Serbia – Sweden betting tip.
