Hundreds of graves have been found outside the Ukrainian city of Izium that was liberated from Russian occupation. Ukrainian authorities say 99 percent of the bodies exhumed show signs of “violent death.”
The authorities fear that at least 440 dead have been buried. Some of them may have been victims of shelling or lack of medical care during the Russian occupation.
It has not been established whether they are civilians or soldiers who have been buried. However, police say most are believed to be civilians.
