Stockholm’s daughter Cornelia Jakobs also won in the breakthrough of the year category, but then had difficulty getting the words out in the acceptance speech in front of the audience at Gustav Adolfs Torg in her hometown, and kept it concise.
— I don’t know what to say. Thousand thanks. I’m so damn happy, she said in Aftonbladet’s broadcast.
Benjamin Ingrosso was another of the gala’s big winners. He won the male artist of the year award for the fourth time and also took home the fan of the year category.
This year’s female artist was Miss Li.
“This is not funny for a girl who had to beg for a pass in music at high school,” she said in her acceptance speech.
Pop veterans Abba, who in November released the album Voyage after a four-decade hiatus, took home the award for group of the year.
— It is big to get the Rockbjörnen and it is of course even bigger to get the Rockbjörnen when you, like us, stopped being active as a group 40 years ago. It is a bit of a miracle, said Björn Ulvaeus in a video greeting.
