When it comes to meetings on weekdays, responding to e-mails, routine work, some things may be in the background. This preoccupation can cause both fatigue and stress. In this rush, you may sometimes forget to have lunch or not make time for a lunch break. Skipping lunch is a mistake, according to nutritionists.
IMPORTANT AS BREAKFAST
Jen Bruning, spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, said that breakfast is often the most important meal of the day, but lunch is equally important.
Bruning added that skipping any meal makes it harder to meet your daily nutritional needs. No matter how busy you are, regularly eating lunch and getting away from work gives you energy and a mental break and time to renew.
HOW DOES JUMPING LUNCH AFFECT THE BODY?
It’s okay to skip lunch once in a while. But if this becomes a habit, your body adjusts to a “lower nutrient intake” and this can be detrimental to your health. “This can cause metabolism to slow over time and increase the risk of nutrient deficiencies,” Bruning added.
The ideal time for lunch is 4-5 hours after breakfast.
