The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the strategic military exercise “East-2022” (Vostok) will be held in the country.
According to a written statement from the Ministry, the troops of the Russian Eastern Military District will participate in the “East-2022” exercise on August 30-September 5 under the leadership of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
In the exercise, in which Russia’s airborne, military transport aviation and long-range aviation units and troops from foreign countries will also take part, the objectives of ensuring military security in the eastern region of the country will be worked on.
The exercise in question will take place in more than 10 ranges of the Russian Eastern Military District.

In the statement, which stated that the foreign press was spreading information that Russia was carrying out mobilization activities, it was noted that only a part of the Russian Armed Forces took part in the war in Ukraine and this number was sufficient to fulfill the targets set.
