Sweden had revenge to pick up after the loss against Norway at home in the Nations League last week. But it was at least as heavy a night on Sunday, when Norway again won and connected a real grip on the group.

Scornful gesture

Erling Haaland scored two goals on Friends, and repeated the feat on Sunday, when he gave Norway the lead with a strong header in the beginning, and later was safe from the penalty spot. Norway won 3-2, but afterwards it was a lot – just like last time – about the mockery that hailed during the match.

When the match was played in Solna, it was Haaland who made a scornful gesture towards the audience, and this time it was Leo Östigård who chose to make a classic gesture towards the Swedish audience. Petter Northug often made the gesture against Calle Halfvarsson after various ski races, and after the match, the midfielder himself posted a picture of his gesture, together with Northug’s gesture.

Passing to the king

Petter Northug is usually not late to mock Sweden, and he took, of course, this opportunity as well. On Twitter, he chose to send a pass – to Carl XVI Gustaf.

During his career, Northug often mocked the Swedish king, not least during a race in Norway in 2011. When Northug showed his home in Norway a few years ago, there was also a painting of King Carl XVI Gustaf.
