From the rostrum of the Bundestag on January 27, she poignantly recalled the suffering suffered during and after the war and launched an appeal against oblivion. Speaker of the Israeli Parliament Mickey Levy ended his speech with a prayer during which he could not hold back his tears.

Germany has been commemorating the Holocaust for 25 years on the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz camp in early 1945. The government’s anti-Semitism delegate, Felix Klein, is concerned about anti-Jewish statements and symbols during “antivax” demonstrations. and warns: Memory should not be reduced to rituals “.

An interest in memory work

A survey by the World Jewish Congress shows that one in five young Germans between the ages of 18 and 29 endorse anti-Semitic positions. At the same time, two studies presented on Tuesday on this same category showed a greater interest than among the oldest for the Third Reich and the work of memory.
