6 hours of first class western entertainment with Matt Damon Tommy

Howdy, partner. Today there is really something on offer for everyone who can even remotely appreciate the Western: All the Beautiful Horses as well as The Missing and Blaze of Glory are shown one after the other on TV. That makes six hours with Matt Damon, Tommy Lee Jones and Cate Blanchett.

That’s what the three westerns that are coming out in today’s six-hour TV marathon are about

All the beautiful horses: John Grady Cole (Matt Damon) and Lacey (Henry Thomas) really want to work on a horse ranch. They ride to Mexico especially because there are hardly any such ranches left in Texas in 1949. There, John falls in love with Alejandra (Penélope Cruz) and gets into trouble because of it, but the police soon start targeting the friends.

The Missing: Samuel Jones (Tommy Lee Jones) actually wants to return to his estranged wife and their daughter. But the woman is already dead and the adult daughter Maggie (Cate Blanchett) is looking for her own child, who was kidnapped. Samuel helps her look for the kidnappers and the two get to know each other better along the way.

Blaze of Glory – Flaming Glory
is actually the second part of the western film called Young Guns. The sequel once again revolves around Billy the Kid, his gang and their never-ending fight against the law. Included are, among others, Emilio Estevez and Kiefer Sutherland.

The Western Marathon doesn’t show any classics, but it’s still worth seeing

The big genre guns aren’t brought out here, but that doesn’t detract from the entertainment, quite the opposite. This evening the focus is on Western films that are in the Filmed in the 1990s or around the turn of the millennium and have largely flown under the radar.

But that doesn’t mean that you as fans can’t have fun with these neo-Westerns. It’s going to happen through that alone impressively top-class cast Guaranteed and, as in The Missing, for example, it also allows rather unusual character constellations to come into their own.

TV or stream: When and where is the Western marathon running?

Tonight from 8:15 p.m. on ZDFneo. All the Beautiful Horses starts at 8:15 p.m., The Missing comes at 10:05 p.m. and Blaze of Glory concludes at 12:10 a.m.

If you can’t, you have the chance to rent or buy all three films online on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Google Play and some other streaming services. None of them are currently available as a subscription flat rate.
