Which multiplayer title will everyone be playing next? We at MeinMMO dare to take a look into the future and summarize which games are on the most wish lists on Steam.
There are some big announcements for 2023. These include sequels to popular games, but also completely new titles. If you like being up to date and want to know what everyone else is playing, or will be playing, the list should not be ignored.
How did this list come about? To find the most wanted games, we typed “Steam most wanted games” into Google and got an overview as a result, to which we added the “Multiplayer” tag. You can find the list here.
At the top is Hogwarts Legacy, which the developers say will not have multiplayer or co-op. There have been rumors as to why the game is probably still listed under Multiplayer on Steam.
The Day Before

What kind of game is this? In The Day Before you have to survive in a zombie apocalypse. The cause of the end of the world was a pandemic. To stay alive, you must find and craft food, weapons, and other useful items.
However, you don’t just fight zombies – an important part of The Day Before is PvP. So you live in constant fear of being attacked by fellow players.
When does it appear? The Day Before wasn’t scheduled to be released until 2022 but was postponed. The new date is March 1st, 2023. The shooter should appear directly in Unreal Engine 5.
Party animals
Genre: party game | Developer: Recreate Games | Platform: personal computer
What kind of game is this? Party Animals is a colorful casual game with cute animals. You are on the road as a dog, cat, rabbit or other animal and fight your fellow players in various minigames. You can grab, push, and shove enemies to ensure victory.
If you like games like Fall Guys, Pummel Party and Gang Beats, Party Animals is definitely the place for you.
When does it appear? There is currently no release date for Party Animals. The release on Steam is just “TBA” and the developers advertise on the website that the game is wishlisted.
Sons Of The Forest

What kind of game is this? Sons of the Forest is the sequel to the popular 2014 horror survival game The Forest. You crash a plane on an island where you have to survive. In addition, the first part is about finding your son. In Sons Of The Forest you are looking for a millionaire.
The sequel is based on the gameplay of The Forest and takes place on the same map. But it comes with some improvements. For example, there are now changing seasons that not only affect you and your struggle for survival, but also the various creatures of the island.
There are also other improvements, such as the graphics or the AI of your opponents. You even have more firearms, but ammo is limited.
When does it appear? The first missed release was scheduled for May 2022 before the planned release was pushed to October 2022. Endnight Games later announced that they would not make it to that date either. New release date is February 2023.

ARC 2

ARC 2 Trailer Release 2023
What kind of game is this? ARK 2 is the direct sequel to the popular survival game ARK: Survival Evolved. However, it should differ from its predecessor, especially in terms of gameplay. For example, there will be a Soulslike combat system. It’s also set on a whole new map called Arat.
Since the developers are using Unreal Engine 5, there will be highly detailed weather, smoke, and even foliage. The environment is always changing and there are various events such as herd migrations, gatherings at waterholes or wounded creatures.
In ARK 2 there should also be the possibility to build from templates and to use cross-platform mods.
When does it appear? ARK 2 was originally supposed to be released in 2022, but it was pushed back to 2023 in the summer. There is no exact date. Also, we know that ARK 2 is coming to Xbox Game Pass for 3 years.
Kerbal Space Program 2
Genre: simulation, space | Developer: Intercept Games | Platform: PC, PS4/PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
What kind of game is this? Kerbal Space Program 2 is the successor to its predecessor of the same name. You fly into space and take over the management of an extraterrestrial space agency. You build spaceships and navigate them through space to find new solar systems and cosmic mysteries.
The gameplay of Kerbal Space Program 2 should not differ fundamentally from its predecessor. However, players now have more options: more technologies, new colonies and more modding functions.
The biggest change, however, is that the sequel will now be a multiplayer title. However, you can only play the first part of 2015 alone.
When does it appear? The planned release for the space simulator is February 24, 2023. Then the game will go into Early Access on Steam, while the version for consoles is still a long time coming.
