225 kilos of pasta found in woods in New Jersey

Hundreds of kilos of spaghetti, macaroni and alphabet pasta have been found in a forest in New Jersey.
The mystery now eludes the local residents of the small community of Old Bridge.
– Seven meter long piles of pasta have been dumped in the forest, says local politician Nina Jochnowitz.

Along a stream in a wooded area, the Italian carbohydrate was found – in large quantities. It writes New York Times.

Nina Jochnowitz estimates the amount of pasta to be at least 225 kilos. She also thought the pasta was cooked, which later turned out to be due to rain softening the pasta.

“Wanted to feed the forest”

Theories about how the pasta ended up there quickly began to abound in Old Bridge. Especially since New Jersey is known for its love of Italian delicacies.

A local Italian restaurant owner maintains his innocence.

– It doesn’t come from here. I guess whoever did it wanted to feed the forest, he says to the New York Times.

The police took care of the pasta

The local police were sent to the scene and “took care” of the pasta in “under an hour”. It is unclear whether a large fork had been used, writes the New York Times.

Eventually, Nina Jochnowitz claimed she knew who was behind the pasta mystery.

– I know it wasn’t a company. It was a private residence, says Jochnowitz, without revealing more.
