A teenage boy has died after being injured by a sharp object near Älvsjö station in Stockholm. According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, another teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder – both are said to have been on their way to the school’s prom.
The injured boy was found at 4 p.m. at the gate of an apartment building. A few hours later, the police announced that a person had been arrested.
The police do not want to say if the person was arrested near the crime scene.
– It is something that we do not want to go out with this early in the preliminary investigation, says police spokesperson Towe Hägg.
The police are tight-lipped about the investigation and do not want to say whether the victim and the arrested know each other.
But according to information to TV4 Nyheterna, the dead person is a 15-year-old boy and the arrested person is the same age. Both must have been on their way to the school’s prom.
Found at gate
The dead boy was found at the gate of the property, but police suspect he was stabbed inside the stairwell or in the laundry room.
Several locations adjacent to the house were cordoned off for technical examination.
– It is unclear if the place where the injured man was found is where he was injured, says Hägg.
The police do not believe that what happened can be connected to the recent acts of violence in the Stockholm area.
– From what has come to light so far, we see no connection, but the work is not finished yet, says Towe Hägg.
