Blocked driveway ends in arrest

An overnight report of a blocked driveway on Devonshire Avenue ended with the arrest of a suspected drunk driver.

Responding Wednesday morning just before 4 am, Woodstock officers discovered a running pickup truck blocking the driveway of a Devonshire Avenue home near Wellington Street North.

The driver, police said, was passed out behind the wheel.

After officers roused the unconscious driver, they allegedly tried to drive away from the scene before crashing into a police cruiser.

After further tests, the driver allegedly had a blood-alcohol concentration nearly three times the legal limit, resulting in two impaired driving-related charges.
