Today was confederation captain Janne Andersson and assistant confederation captain Peter Wettergren’s last match with the Swedish national football team.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who briefly played under the duo’s management, was not slow to send a greeting to his former coaches.
– Wait Janne, Zlatan here. A big thank you for the chance I got. It didn’t last long, it could have lasted longer, and it could have started earlier. But it’s my fault, so… I just want to say that it’s been fun getting to know the real Janne and we’ve had fun together. We have talked a lot, we have laughed, we have been tough in our decisions. But that’s the way it is, says Zlatan in a clip on the Swedish Football Association Instagram account.

Zlatan also took the opportunity to send a tribute to the assistant national team captain:
– Peter! I just want to say a big congratulations for what you brought to the national team. You have contributed a lot, even if you were not there every moment. You are working in the background and you have done an amazing job. I just want to say that I am grateful to have gotten to know you. You have a football brain that few others have.
