Zlatan is on a roll.
But it is not our Swedish football icon who has gone astray, but a 30 centimeter tall version of him in wool.
– I’m very happy that the police got hold of this, says the artist Eva Bergman Selim.
The sculpture, which represents the soccer player Zlatan Ibrahimovic, disappeared from a gallery on Södermalm in Stockholm earlier this year, which Dagens Nyheter previously wrote about.
Behind the work is the artist Eva Bergman Selim, who makes wool sculptures in needle felting technique. The Zlatan figure took 80 hours to make, she says, and now she would like to get her stolen work back.
– It was stolen from a gallery this summer, and the police have since done research, says Eva Bergman Selim in Efter fem.
Make celebrities in wool
She has made it her thing to make wool sculptures of famous people, and the collection includes, among others, Elvis Presley, Amy Winehouse, Cornelis Vreeswijk and Bob Marley.
– But Zlatan was, or still is, a favourite, says Eva Bergman Selim.
Several affected
She hasn’t heard anything about any success in the investigation since Zlatan disappeared in August, but is still happy that the whole thing has been noticed.
– I’m very happy that the police got hold of this, because there are several thefts that have happened at other galleries in Söder as well. It’s not just me who has been affected.
