Zlatan Ibrahimovic has ended his career.
But now he’s making Milan fans dream – with a cryptic message.
“Is there a chance!?”, writes the Milan site SempreMilan.
Despite the fact that Ibrahimovic has passed the 40-year mark, the news came as a bombshell. Many had expected him to leave Milan but continue his career elsewhere, and there was no shortage of rumors of potentially interested clubs.
Hints of return
But after the last game of the season, Ibrahimovic walked out onto the San Siro pitch, in front of the Milan fans, and bid farewell to football. After two decades in world football, Ibrahimovic has done his part, and Sweden’s greatest football player of all time is now retired.
But since the announcement, the information about his possible future in football has replaced each other. The national team and the Swedish Football Association have been clear that they want to see Ibrahimovic in some kind of role, but so have Milan. Zlatan is said to have even been offered the role of “club manager”, where he would act as a link between the sporting management and the playing squad.

The words that make fans dream
And now Ibrahimovic himself blocks the rumors of a possible leadership role within Milan. On social media, Zlatan himself has posted a picture where he stands and receives the tributes of the Milan fans, and to the picture he writes, in short: “Believers”. And Milan fans were not slow to start dreaming of a possible return for the Swedish legend.
Since Milan’s season ended, the legendary Paolo Maldini has had to leave his role. It was similar to the one that Ibrahimovic was reportedly offered, which only fueled the rumors even more. Ibrahimovic has been hugely praised in recent years for his leadership qualities in the Milan dressing room, which is why the club have been so keen to keep him in some sort of role.
