An absolutely fantastic and long football career is over. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has retired, leaving behind extraordinary goals, spectacular stunts and one of sport’s most colorful personalities.
Zlatan’s career
It was 24 years as a professional footballer for nine different clubs around Europe and also in North America. During his career, “Ibra” managed to win as many as 32 titles during his many years in top football but now it’s game over.

After being around for so long and playing with and against some of the world’s best players, Zlatan knows what it takes to reach the absolute top of the world. He truly recognizes class when he sees it on the football pitch having played for big clubs such as Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, Milan, PSG and Manchester United.

Ibra’s tribute
Now he himself has taken on the task of appointing the very best young player in the world of football right now. Zlatan must have been charmed by the big stars Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Jr but still chooses someone completely different as his favorite and someone who is much more like himself.

The Swedish world star lends her voice to the sensation Erling Haaland. 22-year-old Norwegian who took the entire Premier League by storm last season and broke the all-time goal record in the league as a debutant.

“Completely obsessed”
There is something very special that Zlatan likes about the Manchester City jewel.
– Erling Haaland is good, he is completely obsessed with scoring goals. And he doesn’t do more than he needs to do either, he’s just focused on the goals. You can really see that in him as a player. There are footballers who think they can do more than they are capable of and that is not very smart. I see that intelligence in Haaland, he just wants to score goals. He knows he can do it and that’s the only thing he tries to do, says Zlatan in an interview with CBS Sport.
Given Erling Haaland’s unique physique and nose for goals, as well as the fact that he is from Scandinavia, he is a worthy replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the big football stage. And he has already managed two things that Zlatan never achieved in his career: Winning the Premier League and the Champions League.
