Zlatan Ibrahimovic makes a comeback – and makes history

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been out for almost a year. On Sunday, he made a comeback against Atalanta in Serie A.

On Sunday, Milan took on Atalanta at home in Serie A. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was again on the Milan team’s bench, and at first did not look like he would get playing time this evening.

The 41-year-old had to watch Milan take the lead in the first half after a finish from Theo Hernandez via keeper Juan Musso’s back in the goal, and at the break he warmed up cautiously.

41 years and 146 days

In the end, Ibrahimovic lined up on the touchline in the 74th minute and had to make a comeback with a sub – after just over nine months on the sidelines due to knee problems.

Ibrahimovic became, with the substitution, Milan’s oldest player ever in a match in Serie A. Ibrahimovic is today 41 years and 146 days old and broke Alessandro Costacurta’s record, when he was 41 years and 25 days old.

Ibrahimovic didn’t have time to influence the game that much during his time on the pitch, but at the same time got to celebrate Junior Messi’s 2-0 goal after 86 minutes of play. A result that stood the game out.
