The whole of Milan is waiting for Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s long-awaited comeback.
Now the star Swede breaks the silence and reveals the future.
– It will be brutal, he tells Gazzetta dello Sport.
He has not played a game of football since an 18-minute substitute against Sassuolo on May 22. But Zlatan Ibrahimovic refuse to give up hope for it.
“Ibra” is missing
The Swedish superstar turns 41 in less than a month but, despite tough injury concerns, is still hungry to return to the football field again. While the reigning champions Milan have had a good start to the new season and are tied for the league lead after six rounds, “Ibra” has mostly been seen in the stands where he supported the team.
It is still uncertain when Zlatan can return to full match play again, but Milan really longs for the return of their favorite player. One that doesn’t is the club icon Zvonimir Boban who recently stated that the Swede should end his football career.
Zlatan’s promise
When Ibrahimovic recently launched a new clothing collection, the attacking star responded to talk about the future and possibly quitting.
– It depends on. If I see a player who is stronger than me, then I will stop. But I haven’t seen that player yet, he says to the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, according to the Football Channel.
Zlatan also breaks the silence about the return and when people can expect him to play football again.
– You will notice that. When I come back it will echo, you can be sure. It will be brutal, he says in a cocky promise.
According to Italian information, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to return again in January next year. Where the sights are set on playing the Champions League final with Milan and one last chance to reach the coveted title that he lacks in the trophy cabinet.
