Zidane was one of the candidates to take over Manchester United.
But in the end, he dropped out as an alternative.
– It makes it more difficult, he says.
Zinedine Zidane is undoubtedly one of the world’s foremost football players of all time. He celebrated great triumphs with both Juventus and Real Madrid during his career, with several significant titles.
Successful coaching career
When the shoes were hung on the shelf, Zidane entered the coaching profession. There he first appeared in Real Madrid Castilla, the club’s reserve team, and then took over the Spanish capital club’s first team.
The Frenchman was an immediate success and during his first stay he won the Champions League three times in a row and La Liga once. When he was back for a second turn, he took home the league title again before thanking himself again.
Since then, Zidane has been unemployed, and he was rumored to take over at Manchester United earlier this spring after Ralph Rangnick.
“Can’t take any job”
However, the Frenchman believes that it is difficult for him to take over clubs such as Manchester United.
– There are also other reasons why I can not take any job. One of them is language. Certain circumstances make things more difficult. People ask me, ‘Do you want to move to Manchester?’ but I do not fully master the English language, even if I understand it, says Zidane to French L’Equip.
Lately, most have indicated that the legend is highly relevant to take over PSG after Mauricio Pochettino – and Zidane does not close doors.
– You should never say never. When I was a player, I could choose between almost all clubs. But as a coach, there are not 50 clubs I can go to. There are two or three options, he says.
