A speech before the Parliament of Canada in Ottawa, formal talks with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and meetings with people of Ukrainian origin in Toronto.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is visiting Canada during the day, where he arrived late on Thursday.

The visit is the Ukrainian president’s first to the country since Russia launched its war of aggression against Ukraine in February 2022. It follows Zelensky’s appearance at the United Nations in New York and visits to Congress and the White House in Washington DC.

During Thursday, US President Joe Biden promised that “the world” stands by Ukraine. Biden also said that he approved the next part of the United States’ military support to Ukraine, worth the equivalent of just over 3.6 billion kroner.
