Volodymyr Zelenskyj may imagine talking directly to Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin to end the war that has been going on for almost three years, says the Ukrainian president in an interview with journalist Piers Morgan.

On a question about how he would ask if he sat opposite Putin at the negotiating table, Zelensky responds:

– If it is the only possible arrangement with which we can achieve peace for Ukraine’s people and not lose people, then we will undoubtedly invest in it, says Zelenskyj, and continues:

– I will not show him any kindness, to me he is an enemy. To be honest, I think he sees me the same way.

The comments come just over two weeks after Donald Trump, who promised he ended the war, took over the presidential post in the United States.

Last Sunday, Keith Kellogg, Trump’s envoy to Ukraine, said that both Kiev and Moscow must “make concessions” if they are to be able to negotiate an end to Russia’s invasion war.
