Volodymyr Zelenskyj will be received by King Carl XVI Gustaf.
“Today I am in Stockholm for the third summit between Ukraine and the Nordic countries,” he writes on X.
He continues to write that he will meet Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Icelandic Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson.
“Ukraine will sign three security agreements, which establish planned and long-term defense assistance and comprehensive support,” Zelensky writes on X.
Ukraine’s cause is ours
Ulf Kristersson also confirms that the Ukrainian president is in Sweden.
“Today I welcome Volodymyr Zelenskyj to Sweden and to the Nordic-Ukrainian summit. We will take important steps to further strengthen the cooperation between our countries in our support to Ukraine. Ukraine’s cause is ours,” he signs X.
The meeting’s top priorities are to secure more air defense systems and weapons for Ukraine. But on the agenda is also to discuss joint defense industry projects and global efforts to “force Russia to make peace”, Zelensky writes.
