The new US military aid package for Ukraine has been stuck in Congress for almost half a year.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi says that if the country does not receive the aid package promised by the United States, the Ukrainian army will have to withdraw from the battlefields step by step from the front to conserve ammunition, among other things.

According to Zelenskyi, the Ukrainian forces have not been able to plan for the future because there is no information about the approval of the support. Zelenskyi tells the newspaper that the country is trying to find ways so that it does not have to withdraw.
Zelenskyi last appealed to Congress a few weeks ago to approve tens of billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine.
The aid package, which has been stuck in Congress for almost half a year, divides Democrats and Republicans. The controversy focuses on US domestic politics, as Republicans would like to tie the approval of the package to US immigration policy, its tightening and financing. There has been a discussion on the matter and proposals have been made, but the Congress has not found a common vision.
Zelenskyi described to WP that the past time has become expensive for Ukraine. If the United States does not support us, it means that we do not have air defense, missiles or equipment required for electronic warfare, Zelenskyi stated to the newspaper.
– It means that we have to go back, retreat, step by step with small steps, the president commented and indicated that the length of the front line should be shortened, which Ukraine would be able to defend it.
– If it breaks, the Russians would have the opportunity to advance to the big cities.
