President Volodymyr Zelenskyi stresses that Ukraine will not agree to hand over territories to Russia.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky according to the peace agreement can only emerge if Russian troops withdraw to pre-attack positions.

Zelenskyi spoke about the matter remotely at an event hosted by the Chatham House incubator.

The President of Ukraine stressed that Ukraine will not hand over its territories to Russia. Zelenskyi noted that he has been elected president of Ukraine, not a mini-president of Ukraine.

Ukraine will not negotiate if Russia kills Azovstal’s civilians and soldiers

Russia is currently trying to take over Ukraine’s last resistance, the Azovstal steel plant area, in the city of Mariupol. In addition to soldiers, civilians are still trapped in the area.

According to Zelensky, Ukraine will not negotiate with Russia if Russia kills civilians and soldiers in Azovstal.

The full takeover of Mariupol would be Russia’s biggest victory in a war of aggression lasting more than two months. Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.

– The war can only end if we return to the situation on 23 February. This is very important, Zelenskyi told the BBC.

This may suggest that Ukraine would not demand the return of Crimea as part of a possible peace agreement.

Russia celebrates Victory Day on Monday, celebrating the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany.

Zelenskyi invited the German Chancellor Olaf Scholzin to visit Ukraine on Victory Day.
