– London has stood by Kiev since the first day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said in a speech to the British Parliament on Wednesday.
Zelenskyi made his speech during an extraordinary visit to London.
It is reportedly only the second time that the president leaves Ukraine after the large-scale war of aggression started by Russia. Zelenskyi is scheduled to continue his journey on Wednesday evening to Paris and tomorrow Thursday to Brussels, where the extraordinary EU summit will begin.
On Wednesday in London, Zelenskyi did not spare the words of thanks addressed to the British.
The president stated that while the rest of the world was still thinking about how to react to the Russian attack, Great Britain offered a helping hand. A personal mention was also given to the former prime minister who appeared in the Westminster Hall audience Boris Johnson.
– Boris, you got others involved when it seemed like an impossible task, Zelenskyi thanked the sitting prime minister at the beginning of the war.
In his speech, Zelenskyi also thanked the current prime minister Rishi Sunakia, who received Zelenskyi on Wednesday in Downing Street. He was incensed by the tanks sent by Britain to Ukraine and the training that the British have provided to the Ukrainian forces.
In his speech, Zelenskyi also referred to the current situation of the war and reminded of the constant need for help.
He said that Ukraine would do everything in order to get more equipment to the front, and especially reminded of the need for fighter jets.

In his speech, Zelenskyi said he knows that Russia will lose the war it started in Ukraine.
– We know that the victory will change the world, Zelenskyi said.
