Yesterday, French President Emanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to ceasefire, withdraw Russian troops and hold immediate and serious talks. Putin said he was open to resuming dialogue with Kyiv, and Zelensky acknowledged that dialogue was necessary to end the war.
At the same time, there are reports, from independent Russian media, that Russia has not given up the idea of winning the war and capturing Kyiv.
