Zeist follows the method of other municipalities, including the municipality of Utrecht, by protecting the cheapest 60 percent of the housing stock. Exceptions are possible for people who buy a house for family members, for company houses or for temporary rental. If the city council of Zeist approves next month, the scheme will take effect on 1 June.
