Zecira Musovic had her big breakthrough in the WC.

The summer soccer World Cup was Zecira Musovics major breakthroughs in the Swedish national team. After being a constant second goalkeeper behind Hedvig Lindahl for many years, the 27-year-old now got the chance to take over the responsibility between the posts and impressed greatly.

Musovic again kept a clean sheet against the Americans and set a new championship record for the most saves without conceding a goal. An incredible performance by the goalkeeper, who on a daily basis plays for the big club Chelsea, and which ultimately resulted in a WC bronze for Sweden.

The new assignment

After the WC success, a lot of attention has been directed at Zecira and now she wants to help others. The Swedish soccer goalkeeper has received a new assignment that warms the hearts of many, as a new ambassador for the organization Friends.

Musovic takes his new assignment very seriously in order to help vulnerable children in Sweden.
– I love working with people and am constantly looking for ways on how we can be better and how we can make society a better place by bringing out the best version of ourselves. The next generation and children are something I am passionate about and I think it is important for all of us to understand that they are the ones who will take after us and hopefully continue the good work. I think sport is also perhaps one of society’s sharpest tools in how we can create inclusion and how we can make society a really good team, she says herself in a press release.
– Friends does a fantastic job and their values ​​resonate well with my own. When I therefore got the question from Friends, it was a “no brainer” for me to team up. Together we will make a difference in issues that I am passionate about!

Zecira Musovic also admits how she will act as a new ambassador for Friends to reduce bullying in society.
– I try to lead by being a good example both on and off the pitch, and I’m passionate about the next generation. Everything starts with them, and then you also have to bet on them, she says in a statement.
– We are all different and I wish we could be more curious and accept each other’s differences. Then I think we can reduce bullying.
