Zaho de Sagazan, resolutely modern music

Zaho de Sagazan resolutely modern music

The young 23-year-old musician made a sensational entrance on the French scene with musical proposals of great power and originality, where text songs, worthy heirs of Brel or Barbara, and techno mingle in an explosive cocktail.

What strikes first is his voice. Singular because soft and metallic at the same time, with a groove capable of moving from sadness to ecstasy, of recounting couple relationships, revealing romantic fantasies and sublimating strange dreams. A voice that chisels the words – its own – precise, elaborate and sharp like those that have encrusted the most beautiful pages of French-language song, that of Barbara, Brel or Stromae. Words of always and words of today, which she poses on piano or electro notes, the time of a few powerful, poetic, magnetic moments. In just a few months, from festival to festival, the star of Zaho of Sagazan streaked the French musical sky. A real clap of thunder, a real “Symphony of lightning” for the title of his 1er album, available from Disparate/Virgin Records. Its trajectory passes tomorrow through the Solidays festival at the Longchamp Racecourse.

Zaho of Sagazan releases his first album The symphony of lightning on his own Disparate label.
