Before the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Zack Snyder also pitched his version of the sci-fi series. However, Disney turned down the Justice League director’s idea. Thanks to Netflix, Snyder was still able to realize his blockbuster project as a two-parter.
New details about Rebel Moon have now been revealed. The sci-fi bombast comes in four versionswhereby the versions should differ mainly in terms of hardness.
Zack Snyder’s sci-fi blockbuster gets extended R-ratings on Netflix
According to Slash Film, a sound mixer working on both John Wick: Chapter 4 and Rebel Moon told the website that the upcoming Zack Snyder epic will be made into multiple versions:
There will be two films. I think we mix June to February. And it will extended R-rated versions of each of the two films give, so we’re going to mix four different films.
There are no more details about the different versions yet. But it’s quite possible that milder PG-13 versions of Rebel Moon will be cut for a short theatrical release. Netflix could then release harder R-rated versions as a stream.
The streaming start of Zack Snyder’s new sci-fi epic is already set. The first part of Rebel Moon will be released on December 22, 2023 on Netflix by subscription.
