The 007 mills grind with tiring slowness. At least that’s the impression James Bond fans have to get, who have been waiting for months for the announcement of Daniel Craig’s successor. In the meantime, stars behind the camera are getting involved in the agent franchise: Zack Snyder already has a new idea for the next Bond.
Zack Snyder wants to tell James Bond’s backstory
Snyder told The Atlantic:
It would be cool to see a 20-year-old James Bond. Seeing the humble background he comes from. What childhood trauma makes it possible to become James Bond? There has to be something there.

A 20-year-old James Bond has not existed in the entire history of the 007 cinema series since 1962. Whether fans of the franchise would like to see such a young Bond or could accept Snyder in the director’s chair is another matter.
In addition to the discussions about Daniel Craig’s successor, the rumor mill is also bubbling about positions behind the camera. Star director Christopher Nolan recently denied working on a James Bond film. Various well-known filmmakers have already directed 007 films, including Sam Mendes (1917) and Cary Joji Fukunaga (Beasts of No Nation).
